After Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s declaration about banning of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes use, almost everyone is running out cash. There are huge rushes at banks, post-offices and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) for depositing old notes and getting lower denomination notes.
Normally, people prefer ATMs for withdrawal of cash, but due to huge rushes at ATM booths, it is now no more an easy task to locate a working ATM. Most ATMs get cashless within a few hours due to huge queue.
To get rid of this awkward situation, a Twitter handle named @WoCharLog has created a website http://atmsearch.in/, which is basically a mobile application. This application provides you information about rush or number of people outside an ATM kiosk and working or non-working Automated Teller Machines (ATMs).
Operation of this app is very simple. All you need to do is to enter your locality in the search box and it starts generating up real-time information about ATMs. The application works on data inputs by users means people standing before the ATM feed information. Every user can update the information and add latest information about any working ATMs at his/her locality.
