Manju Borah Wins Best Director Award at LIFF for “KO:Yad”

Acclaimed Assamese movie director Manju Borah received best director award for her Mising film “KO:Yad” at the second edition of the Ladakh International Film Festival (LIFF). Also, Sewan Sing Yein won the best actor for “KO:Yad”. 


Abhinav Shiv Tiwari`s `OASS`, a movie on human trafficking, was named the best film at Ladakh International Film Festival. It also won the best screenplay, and Divya Chhetri was awarded the best actress for the same movie. The international jury of the fest was chaired by acclaimed filmmaker Aparna Sen. The other jury members included Canadian filmmaker and South Asian Film Festival co-founder T.C. McLuhan. 

Incidentally, the Mising film Ko : Yad, meaning whirlpool, won two national awards of best cinematography and best film in Mising language in the 60th National Film Awards ceremony for the year 2012. Sudhir Palsane was the cinematogrpaher of the film.
